Journal Section

Journal Section is located on the mezzanine floor of the Reading Room. This Section deals with subscription, display and dissemination of new knowledge embodied in the journals, magazines, and newspapers. Current journals are subscribed on the basis of recommendation of the concerned Head of the Department.

Presently, University Library System in all subscribes to 362 print journals excluding gratis out of which Smt. Hansa Mehta Library System Subscribes 246 Journals out which 55% are foreign and approximately 150+ are received as gratis. One may make use of the recent articles / developments in one’s subject field and if required, can also get the article photocopied during 10.30 am- 6.00 pm. All the back volumes of the journals are stacked on the ground floor and are made available for reference within the Library premises. Over and above these, more than 24,000+ online journals are also accessible across the campus including the journals, which are available under the E-Shodhsindhu Programme.

Library subscribes to 243 Print Journals out which 131 are International Journals and 112 are Indian Journals and 16 E-Databases.

• We have many journals which are more than five decades old. Total Unique Journal titles - 2984

• We have a good collection of Times of India Newspapers which are more than six decades old available at Smt. Hansa Mehta Library.
