Dr. Mayank Trivedi is presently the University Librarian (Professor Grade) and a Senate Member at Smt. Hansa Mehta Library, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. As a University Librarian of the MSU, Dr. Trivedi contributed immensely to its overall development. The H M Library was ranked among the top 20 libraries across India (INFLIBNET 2013). Smt. Hansa Mehta Library was ranked among the top ten best libraries across the nation in India Today - Nielson Survey (2016). He has initiated the development of the Open Knowledge Gateway (OKG) and IR @ MSU

Before this, he was a University Librarian & Publication Officer at Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar where he becomes instrumental for renovating infrastructure and improving Information services of the Library and designed the web portal of Bhaikaka Library, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Sardar Patel University.

Dr. Trivedi has been instrumental in establishing a new Medical Library from grass root level at CU Shah Medical College as per the MCI norms. He got nurtured at Pramukhswami Medical College, Karamsad, Government Dental College & Hospital and M P Shah Medical College, Jamnagar. He started his career from Cadila Labs Ltd. as an Information Scientist. After rich exposure in the corporate environment at Cadila Research Centre, Ahmedabad, where his first achievement of automating the R&D Library and transforming it into the state-of-the-art establishment.

He has been actively involved in leveraging e-learning, content creation, open education resources (OER) and online lectures such as Omkar-e. He has been managing the Vadodara center of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad for the last more than five years. He is a science graduate with a Diploma in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science, with exposure to a several-advanced training program on the application of IT to Library Management. He is a recipient of IFLA, SHASTRI Fellowships, ETD (Travel Grants) and a LeAP Awardee-MHRD(2020), The Most Dynamic Librarian Award and has visited several countries concerning various assignments. The International Jury has chosen the name of Dr. Mayank Trivedi for the Achievement of Excellence in Career Award in ICAL(International Conference on Academic libraries)-2023, Delhi

Dr. Trivedi has also acted as an Expert Member/Examiner/Member of Committee to the various professional bodies and institutions such as Indira Gandhi National Open University, Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), Gujarat University, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Sardar Patel University, and C U Shah University. He is a visiting faculty at various universities in Gujarat province. He is associated with PAC Committee at BAOU, Ahmedabad for BLIS and MLIS courses. He has been contributing as an examination paper setter for UPSC,MPPSC, GSET, PET and various other competitive examinations. He is a member of the Editorial/Advisory Board in many National/International journals. He has been the Conference Director/Member of organizing committee/Keynote speaker/Chief guest/Resource person in various National and International conferences/ Orientation/Refresher courses. Since 2015, he is contributing activity towards open and distance learning. He was made Co-ordinator, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU), Vadodara center; where he is performing all types of research and teaching duties like conducting examination, paper setting, counselling etc. for all curses offered by BAOU. Taking lectures for BLISc, MLISc program regularly and supervising research at Master and Ph.D level. The growth of enrollment of students at Vadodara center is tremendous increased (approx. 20k students).

Under his guidance, 11 students have been conferred Ph.D. degree and 8 research scholars are pursuing a Ph.D. He has guided a number of Students for BLISc, MLISc, MPhil and PGDCA of various universities. In 22+ years of professional career, he has published 40+ papers, delivered 100+ lectures, authored/edited 5+ important books, and sponsored various causes and supported a number of organizations associated with the Library and Information Science field.

His current research interests include Digital Libraries, Open Educational Resources, Web-based Learning and Education, Health Informatics, Web 2.0, Knowledge Management, Virtual Library, Re-engineering of Libraries, and Open Access Publishing.
